Supplier of online sports betting solutions and related management services SBTech announced that following a successfully completed compliance process, it is now able to provide its sportsbook to Italy’s regulated gambling market. The announcement came as part of the company’s strategy to introduce its offering in regulated jurisdictions and establish itself as a leading supplier in these.
SBTech’s sports betting solutions have already gone live with Italy-facing operator NetBet. This has not been the first time the two parties have been working together. SBTech has been providing the gambling operator with sports betting offering across multiple other regulated markets, with the UK, Malta, Greece, and Romania being few of those.
The sportsbook supplier said that it believes their joint work will help NetBet further cement its position as a leading gambling operator to be providing iGaming options in the Italian market. SBTech further noted that the latest announcement comes as part of its growth strategy.
Italy’s Customs and Monopoly Agency (Agenzia delle dogane e dei Monopoli) has certified the compliance, assessing SBTech with a Communication Protocol 3.3, under which the company can provide its sports betting offering within the country’s borders with licensed operators.
Commenting on the announcement, SBTech CEO Richard Carter said that passing the certification test was an important milestone for the company’s plans to expand its presence globally and to increase the number of regulated jurisdictions it provides its offering in. The official also noted that their already strong relationship with NetBet will be further strengthened by SBTech’s entry into the Italian regulated gambling market.
Alain Boccara, CEO of NetBet Italy, commented that the sportsbook supplier’s most recent achievement represents a new chapter in their existing relationship. The executive further pointed out that the skill and professionalism with which SBTech meets every challenge is why they are proud to be powered by its platform.
Recently, SBTech entered another regulated market with NetBet as its partner. The supplier was granted a Class II license by Romania’s gambling regulator, thus becoming the first sports betting provider to be allowed to offer its solutions to local gambling customers.
